New paper out! We found that in pipistrelle bats, social vocalizations carry a stronger phylogenetic signal than echolocation calls, suggesting the former evolve more slowly, while the latter remains flexible and shaped by the environment. https://t.co/i5btFfv0mG

Bringing international conferences to the global south empowers many more. Thanks to all who made @Behaviour2025 possible. Fantastic talks, meeting old friends, interacting with so many students and meeting @toshitaka_szk in India was the highlight for me. #Behaviour

New publication from my lab: Vampyrum spectrum, the Neotropics' largest carnivorous bat, is very cooperative. These gentle apex predators regularly provide prey for family members - documented in the wild for the first time. https://t.co/3GWBk1PuVB

In midst of the ongoing push for electric vehicles, we @BaheerathanM & @oliverlindecke reviewed the effect of noise on bats & if EV is quieter & better for animals? 🦇🦗 Surprise 😬 There is sound of silence! Our work is out on @biorxivpreprint today. https://t.co/MU71j7jamW

🚨 New publication out today. Bats are over 1480 species. In this latest article, we discuss the diversity within bats and their immune systems. Elegantly led by the Becker and Frank laboratories. https://t.co/UxiXWxF0ty

Baheerathan Murugavel presented his research on the acoustic parameters of anthropogenic noise and how it acts as a sensory barriers for bats. The study shares insights about species specific as well as community level consequences due to intense noise. @IiserMohali #ICCON2025
