1/15 How hard is the wind blowing on Jupiter? With our team led by @ObsCoteAzur and @nmsuastro with collaborators from Japan, the USA, and Europe, we tried to answer that question with a new technique. Project name is JOVIAL.

As co-convener of Session PS7.8 at the upcoming EGU assembly (Vienna, April 27 to May 2nd), I invite you to submit an abstract if you're into past, present and future programs for Earth-based observations of the Jupiter System! https://t.co/NqdSXagKWE

Something I would unconditionally recommend to young students. 24 years after my Erasmus full year in Pisa, I keep speaking a mix of mostly Italian and French with wife an kids. #erasmusfamily
"In just 37 years, the work of National Agencies has allowed Erasmus+ to reach 15 Mn people and has contributed to building a common European identity like no other. So please, enjoy everything these #ErasmusDays have to offer." Thank You @PiaAhrenkilde ! https://t.co/ad8FdzrDyr

Vous pouvez vous même vous rendre en toute sécurité au bout du quai, côté nord de la gare de Péreire Levallois pour voir de vous même un portail. J’ai fait ces photos hier.

The satellite-strewn sky, in a stack of cumulative exposures taken over just 30 minutes on June 4/5, 2024 from latitude 51° N, looking south. The field is 100° by 75°. There's one natural streak, from a meteor, at center. The others are from what humans put there. @twanight

Io, satellite of Jupiter, seen in visible band with an adaptive optics system on the Large Binocular Telescope located in Arizona. We can now say than AO on ground-based telescope is now better than space telescopes even in optical. https://t.co/D0OAbUnGCj

This demonstrates the crowded sky now above us, in a 4-hour 3600-frame time-lapse tracking a sky criss-crossed with satellites (and some aircraft). This was May 9, at latitude 51° N, so only the lowest (southernmost) portion of the sky is in Earth's shadow. #starlink @twanight

THIS is what the anti-Israel protests are about. They are not anti-semitic. They are anti-barbarism, anti-Netanyahu.
Israeli Defense Minister Gallant said: “I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip...No electricity, no food, no fuel. We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly.” That is what they have done. The world community cannot allow this barbarism.

As a #UranusFlagship meeting begins today, Mousis & Canup explain why an ambitious, international partnership mission to explore the Uranian system could benefit both NASA and ESA, both in today's tough financial climate, and for future missions like L4. https://t.co/dAyIyhVsdl

Nature - Without international partnerships, NASA’s groundbreaking mission could fail to be ready in time for its optimal launch window.

Second stellar physics proposal I have to review in a week: sick of reading that "characterizing exoplanets require optimal stellar parameters" Stellar physics is actually interesting on its own! Planets or not. No need to always play the exoplanets' sidekick. Man...
