Fathers pinning their sons and daughters - what a proud day. There was even one third generation Border Patrol Agent continuing an amazing family legacy! Way to go Class 1183!
Seeing double? On this day one new agent was pinned by his twin brother. All made possible by moving graduation off campus to allow our families to attend graduation.
Every day brings a new challenge, and the women of the U.S. Border Patrol are always there to answer the call!

The trainees are exposed to and certified in many new tools while here at the Academy. One of those tools is the Pepperball Launcher System. During the training, they are exposed to the content of the projectiles, so they understand how it affects them and others when deployed.
Trainees are hitting it hard after the long weekend. Classes 1145, and 1149 are out at the range working on accuracy, and proper weapon handling. These are just some of the crucial skills taught here at the Border Patrol Academy.

Commander of Agents is a new title at the Academy. This position is entrusted to one agent who inspires esprit de corps in our students. This leadership has been instrumental in the readiness of the agents who graduate the academy. Watch the final dismissal from COA Gonzalez.

At the Academy, we do our best to give trainees the training they need to hit the ground running. BPA Prada didn’t disappoint and made a water rescue with less than two months in the field. Way to go!
Did you know that every Border Patrol trainee does 178 hours of physical techniques while at the

? The physical conditioning, defensive tactics, and less-lethal training emphasize agent survival and safety, and prepare them for the physical demands of the job.

Every trainee’s first time wearing the dress uniform is graduation day! Prior to graduation, Class 1183 was inspected by Chief Patrol Agent R. Landrum, the Commander of Agents, and their class mentor. Way to go Class!
Did you know that every trainee that attends the
#USBPAcademy
is held to the same high training standards? It is a long, hard road, but this ensures that all the men and women that graduate and become agents are prepared mentally and physically for the high demands of the job.
Already working on the field, but before graduating Class 1209 completed their Legacy Run and received their Legacy patch.

The Border Patrol Academy typically has an inspection every week. They usually occur on Mondays, but can change if there is a class graduating that week. Trainees are expected to show up with their uniforms pressed and their boots polished. Here is the inspection on 4/26/21.

When it’s raining outside, our agents still respond around the clock no matter the weather. At the Academy it’s no different. We train in all weather conditions.
