An extremely clear & well-written article on something we have started seeing in college hockey: the intersection of NIL, revenue sharing, and scholarships - and the uncertainty of whether or not it’ll all hold water.

In light of new NCAA eligibility for CHL players, I’d guess CHL teams start helping facilitate endorsement (name, image, and likeness) deals for their top players to keep pace. Can’t get $ above necessary expenses from the CHL team but can always monetize NIL outside of team.

The proposal that would allow CHL players to retain NCAA eligibility will be considered during the November D1 Council meeting. If approved, it will not take effect until Aug. 1, 2025. So, no midseason CHL players.
