For those wondering why things differ now from 1940, the answer is preservation and safety. We don’t take the airframes anywhere near war time limits and the same is true for the engines. Need to look after the old girls when they are telling us they are getting too hot.

The 2 letters signify the Squadron. SH was 64 Sqn which are the colours AB910 is painted in. The single letter is aircraft specific. SH-F was Tony Coopers personal aircraft which he called Peter John after his new born son.

We used combat power routinely but it’s use was limited to 10 mins per flight. Yep no complains about the EJ200, superb engine.
