On the other hand, to get universities in line with federal nondiscrimination laws, I'm hard-pressed to think of a method that would be much more effective than threatening the lifeblood of the school. Great to be caught up in this whole mess.

As someone with a substantial amount of frozen funding at the moment, I'm obviously not an objective observer here. I do think the grant suspensions are an overly destructive way to force institutional compliance given the great ROI of STEM grants in general.
