The CMC release separately collated convictions for 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024[1]. Why didn’t Tom compare 2021 convictions to the Census? Because it definitively refutes any notion of Afghans having a “normal-looking” crime rate. He chose 2023 so that he could pretend that the
Denominators matter. This is even more of an issue when looking at hard-to-measure populations. Take Afghans: depending on which denominator you use, they either have a wildly high crime rate or a more normal one. This is the issue with “migrant crime league tables”. 7/8

Can you blame them? Imagine if the boat migrants were trying to leave the UK to get to France, would we do everything in our power to keep them in the UK? Probably not. They are our problem, not France's, because we give them every conceivable reason to come here. We could stop.

Why assume that the Home Office of 2025 is infallible rather than say the Home Office of the early 2000s, which rejected almost all asylum claims?
Need to drill it into people’s heads that the Home Office can’t be trusted. When someone says “The Home Office says they are all legitimate refugees” you should say “I don’t trust a word the Home Office says”.
