as a member of the Technology & Standards group at Woven by Toyota it's my role and responsibility to "make Rust work everywhere on the car" yes, even the areas of high safety-criticality, up to ASIL D, like brake controllers

it makes all the sense in the world, actually: - on-par with C++ in terms of performance - Rust helps prevent common development issues with compiler-enforced guarantees around memory-, thread-, and type-safety - language interoperability is well-supported in the ecosystem
