There's actually a page in Andrew Loomis' Creative Illustration that talks about this! (the answer is it depends on the lighting and how opaque/transparent the surface of the material is)
I've learned so much about drawing hands in the past 5 hours my brain is numb. this is just all the hand positions I've drawn today for a puppet animated scene I'm workin' on, thought this symbol was was satisfying to watch on its own
I should have included this in the video, but here's some examples of how this is applied in different movies. I generated the color wheels using a program called KGamut
Childhood me is losing his shit. Just visited the Newgrounds HQ and went out for pizza with Ivan, PhantomArcade, and Tom Fulp! Left my mark on the wall over by the flying coochies
meanwhile at work today I accidentally created a cursed symbol that corrupts every file it's put in. Melvin's head is literally radioactive and I don't know what to do

I like it honestly, it's over animated to hell and it's not exactly pleasant, but it's chaotic enough to stand out and be exciting. A lot of animation by John K has that quality to it where it makes no sense frame by frame, but in motion it beats you over the head with expression
The hurricane didn't pass, it just moved further towards the city and lingered there. We're not even all the way through the worst of it. The power is out throughout the entire city
Since this is getting so much attention, I want to say this video is a gross oversimplification. It's not meant to be a comprehensive lesson on color, it's just for people who don't even know where to begin to start when choosing colors.
this is a post I never thought I'd make, but a close friend of mine,
@ccrrylleexx
just passed away. he was 21. he was a phenomenal artist across music, art, and animation and an incredible person to talk to. he has been a source of inspiration for so many of us over the years.
