About a year and a half into transition, I feel overly visible. All the eyes, all the opinions on you - it weighs a lot. But you carry it for everyone who comes after you. To make a world where they're seen simply as they are. Full article in the quoted tweet.

Is it possible to be too visible? .For trans people, athletes especially, it can feel that way. Our editor sat down with @vicwingly to discuss the weight of a world that's obsessed with your identity and how to get people to see what really matters. Article link below!

There are definitely younger trans women, who have transitioned for longer, that i learn lots from. But like, also I've lived through my twenties, been in and out of poverty, and do still have more general experience.

I generally agree but I do think you retain some general "elder" status as an older trans woman. Like I started transitioning at 30, only been on HRT for 1.5 years, but still get asked for advice a lot, treated like an older sister just b/c I have my shit together.

1 time a trans woman in her 40s referred to herself as my trans elder which was very confusing to me as i had been on e 10+ years at that point and she had been on e <1 .-. we’re all on the same page that trans elder refers to time spent transitioning, not age, right?.

I broke the keyboard out for this one! Fun to write these little scripts. Plus, I'm always a fan of blitz and the Dota lads - they're very nice.

From past to present, both our TI titles share the same thread: legacy. From our earliest days to two TI titles, Dota has been a pillar of Team Liquid. With @Blitz_DotA’s guiding light, the team worked together to built on that legacy, and it paid off on the biggest stage. 🏆

It's a well-deserved thing. You'd be hard-pressed to find an org that's done more for esports, laid more groundwork, cared more earnestly. Doing a lot if comms, PR, editorial, it's cool to be a part of maintaining that voice.

Chicago is a lot different than I remember! It took way longer to get here and everyone keeps saying "я не розмовляю англійською" to me. but the city is as walkable as ever!

When I came out, I had an acquaintance I barely knew send me a long ass DM about the perils of transitioning, how it radicalized someone he knew, and how we could solve whatever issues I had "as men" lol.

Transphobes are completely convinced no one has ever tried to dissuade someone from transitioning. Even 17 years ago I was hitting road blocks to coming out. And for every one person who “got it” (sometimes it was just as simple as “I don’t understand completely but I support.

What does still bother me is how GOOD my cis voice sounded. Did radio for like four years, read short stories, did presentations w/ that voice. Hard not to miss that old voice sometimes! I hope putting in the years w/ my femme voice makes me love it just as much.

In early voice training I tracked progress by how different my voice was. But eventually your voice blends in, becomes normal. When I hit those points I start to pick at it again b/c I feel like nothing changed. But boy, did things change. forgot how deep my voice used to be.
