Attacks on VPNs are attacks on digital privacy and digital freedom. And that battle is being fought by people who clearly have no idea how any of this technology actually works.

This starkly illustrates the Tragedy of the Commons—a concept whose counterintuitive nature prevents it from gaining the widespread understanding it demands.

This is an important question posed by a candidate for Chair of the Travis County Democratic Party. Do we want the candidates or political party to run Central Texas? Let's add one more option: Shouldn't the people - the residents, the workers, the voters - run Central Texas?

The high cost of City of Austin fire regulations from 2025 just starting to filter in. Tons of new homes will have fire driveway requirements, landscaping plans and 5+ more inspections. Estimated cost impact of $10k per home or more. Will increase sprawl big time.

In LA they're lamenting the replacement of the convention center that they just finished paying off, plus decades of new debt. In Austin, we just tore down a convention center that won't be paid off until 2029. We're still paying for the old one, while also funding a new one.

Millions visit this beautiful park every year. Yet it doesn't cost taxpayers a penny. How is that possible? Because it’s NOT run by government:

I asked Microsoft Copilot to audit its own privacy boundary. It just admitted to a massive compliance gap. If you are rolling out Copilot at work, you need to see this. 1. I asked Copilot if the data sent to Bing (for "Web Grounding") is covered by the Enterprise Data

There has been almost no difference in Austin hotel tax collection this year vs last even though the convention center has been closed in recent months... Its almost like the economic impact of the convention center has been greatly exaggerated
