A paper published in @naturemethods describes a ‘hybrid’ open-top light-sheet microscope that can be used for broad multi-scale volumetric imaging of one or more large tissues. https://t.co/1nWWNzwsSu

I also really enjoyed Ed Munro’s keynote talk about neural tube closure in #ascidians despite knowing absolutely nothing about the area (Hashimoto et al. 2015)

After you die, some cells in your brain keep growing and there is actually an increase in expression of #zombiegenes... https://t.co/cuQlMpxfNL #neurosciencenews #neuroscience #brain

In the hours after death, some cells in the human brain not only remain active, they grow in size.

What do you know this as? The Wavy Bacon? The Wiggly Lines? Since its installation in 2014, 'Sign for Art' has become a landmark for meeting up at the University. Some even say it’s good luck to walk through this sculpture before an exam... But do you know what it represents?

Santiago Ramon y Cajal was one of the pioneers of modern Neuroscience and his Nobel-prize winning work is revered to this day. So I made him out of a toilet roll and an egg. What better way to be commemorated? #LOOminaries #RamonyCajal @KwokLab
