At 12:59 PM, crews responded to a garage fire in the area of 52nd St. & Ward. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control. Two occupants were inside at the time and able to escape. One individual was transported to a local hospital for evaluation due to smoke inhalation.

TRAFFIC ALERT: WRPD is investigating a crash at W 44th Ave. and Garrison St. Our initial investigation indicates the at-fault driver tried to make a U-Turn in front of a van carrying several children.

.@XcelEnergyCO continues to evaluate and move forward with plans for a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPW) on Wednesday, Dec. 17 due to a forecasted wind event and high fire danger. This could begin as early as 10 AM tomorrow.

With strong winds and low relative humidity, a Red Flag Warning and Stage 1 fire restrictions have been enacted today (Thursday, Dec. 11) through 5 PM. Avoid outdoor burning or any activity that could produce a spark and start a wildfire.

Arvada Fire responded to a structure fire near 64th Ave/Oak St. and brought it under control quickly. The fire is out, and our investigation team is on scene gathering information.

Arvada Fire crews are responding to a potential structure fire near W. 80th Circle and Gray Circle. Firefighters are working on a search and ventilation of the structure, with no active fire present at this time.

Traffic Alert: I-76 westbound from Sheridan to I-70 is closed due to a multi-car crash and cleanup. One semi truck and two cars involved, minor injuries. CSP is leading the investigation.
