**PETITION** SAVE ENGLISH LITERATURE AT CANTERBURY CHRIST CHURCH UNIVERSITY I’ve taught English in Canterbury for 20 years. Now, as Cabinet Member for Culture & Heritage, seeing CCCU deciding to close their English degree is I believe, short sighted https://t.co/Lwh4yIrIzO

Can any Aphra scholars out there help?
Book people: does anyone recognise this bookplate at all? I spotted it again here, described as 'frustratingly minimalist', on a copy of a book formerly belonging to Aphra Behn. https://t.co/lpF0SQ18Uw

#ArtMystery Can the missing portrait for found? Please SHARE
📝 Help us crack the case of the missing portrait! This sketch by Sir George Scharf, 1st director of the @nationalportraitgall suggests that an oil portrait of #AphraBehn was offered and refused in the late 1800s. The oil painting has not been seen since! So where is it? […]

Some random photos from visiting the Aphra Behn exhibition at The Beaney in Canterbury last week. I'll admit I know little about her, but I want to learn more and I'm always interested to see more on Kent and the period too. (1)

Discovered in an exhibit about Aphra Behn, the first woman in England to earn a living from her pen! This particular piece of jewellery was owned in the 1680s by...a canon of Canterbury Cathedral! Don't let anyone tell you that everyone in the past was a prude...

A very special visit today by #aphraconference delegates and some guest Cantaburians to see Aphra Behn’s grave in @wabbey - we left a stunning wreath and a spare £ coin, so she doesn’t have to worry about those debts again.

What an end to our wonderful conference. We had director @lovedayIngram along with actors @alexgRSC and Samuel Collings come to discuss @TheRSC 2016 The Rover by Aphra Behn with readings of some epic scenes.

And that’s a wrap from me! Heading home after an incredible few days @AphraConference brimming with new ideas, revived energy, & an Aphra Behn pendant (that pairs perfectly with @vulgarhistory’s Mazarinettes t-shirt). Until next time ✨💫

The #AphraConference is in full swing! Had to dash off, but at least I spent a day at the @AphraConference - saw some old friends & made some new ones 🙌
In #InvisibleAgents , I devote a chapter to #AphraBehn's career in espionage, which, I argue, was also the start of her literary career. Spies lie & some of her intelligence letters were mere confections- she was trying her hand at fiction & getting paid for it by the government!

Ventured into Canterbury town centre to see the Aphra Behn exhibition @The_Beaney featuring some of her spy letters & a maquette of the sculpture to be unveiled in February 📜🎭
