Great to see the concerns we raised acknowledged in the concluding observation for Ireland 📣.

My most recent conversation with her was about Beijing 1995, a watershed moment for disabled women globally, which she attended. We were planning a sit-down to chat about her time there, and I am so sad that this will not happen.

I served on several committees with Jacqui and admired her greatly, both as a fellow activist and a friend.

.@abrihouse was a central figure in the disability rights movement in Ireland. When I first started to engage with the movement, Jacqui took me under her wing. This was the case for many of us, and something we spoke about yesterday as we called and texted on her passing.

(1/2) With a heavy heart, I have written to the Prime Minister to tender my resignation as a whip. Whilst I will continue to support the government in delivering the change the country so desperately needs, I cannot vote in favour of the proposed reforms to disability benefits.
