The #DraghiReport failed to address societal benefit and sustainable growth. It is a short-sighted neo-liberal manifesto. In health it solely focuses on #pharma competitiveness and completely forgets why we make drugs in the first place, to make sure #patients get treated 🙄

✅️ A day after @Europarl_EN approved trilogue agreement on the #SoHO regulation, I saw this soon to be banned advert on the Prague metro. 🩸Clearly, it's all about #VUD and solidarity.... 🇪🇺 Hope new rules will be implemented properly and we achieve more altruism in donations!

@OECD @civio @beuc @AnnaProEU: "The @EU_Commission's proposal in the pharma directive on reporting on public R&D funding is a good step. But to achieve fairer prices, we need clear info on total R&D costs & the percentage of financing coming from govts, non-profit research, as well as tax breaks."

Excellent study presented today on #RDincentives & #access2medicines! Clear that data and IP protection is not the right tool to steer R&D in unmet needs. Absurd that @EU_Health used it as its sole chip in the pharma package! Clearly only works for me-too meds...🤦♀️

ENVI ambition pushed by 5 years in plenary = + 600 000 deaths, but the @WHO target was maintained!! Still a win compared to the wishes of EPP (and of course their partners in crime ECR and ID) who wished for worse air quality standards than we currently have 😷
So we made it on air quality! Alignment with World Health Organization guidelines is now set for 2035 (we had to give 5 years to keep the majority). Christian-Democrats voted against in the end. Clean air is awful of course....

To add to the heated debate ahead of the vote in the past 24h, we have not received any issues on the SoHO categorisation of embryos from medical professionals. Though the "Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the EU" was deeply concerned here. Says volumes.
