I'm popping out for a while: just taking a social media holiday while I finish a couple of projects. I'm looking forward to being back here to find out what you've all been up to; but for the next 6 - 8 weeks I will be observing radio silence. Enjoy the summer / winter.

Fond memories of a mass trespass: a year ago, we met in rain, walked through mist to sun; chats with friends like Ian, Andrea, Curtis and Emily; other conversations with strangers; the speeches and music; that sweet feeling of a solidarity that tries not to sacrifice diversity.

Very enjoyable mass trespass, organised by @LandscapesofF. Starting in drizzle but sun coming out in time for picnics in glorious Downland and talks from @BlackGirlsHike, @guyshrubsole, #DaveBangs and others, including Gypsy, Roma, Traveller perspective https://t.co/xAkOaDzlPw

I thought you were complaining about how much you have on your plate, Angus? Get back to work and stop looking up words like buteonine for Buzzard (my list is borrowed from Quora user Michael Spuehler https://t.co/I6HhLTg0qY)

Glorious South Indian Vegan cooking class with Kanthi from @EasyTigerBN1. Pics don’t do the food justice - it is delicious. Really enjoyed all the cultural contexts, nutritional ideas and the co-cooking with Ray. Class at @BtnKitchen, a great initiative that I will come back to.

Some of many strange devices at the @LCCLondon BA Sound Arts undergraduate show. Synthesis, interaction and AI are only some of what’s involved: also field recording, sound poetry, cassettes, vinyl, re-scored games, films. Performances tonight: go visit https://t.co/P57ib4Mfa1

Important news: someone on this train carriage is exuding a scent (lovely: like old book pages) that is setting off seriously vivid flashbacks of my small body in my childhood bedroom: orange curtains, the embroidered tiger picture my gran made, washed soft candy-striped sheet.

I am not getting all “anthropological” in my old age but I am feeling distinct “In this paper …” vibes from some of things I am seeing as new arrivals in this world. How about a slice of silence to go with that robo-pizza you just ordered? f/n 1: Usual citation practices apply.

Carillon lament rings from the tower in the forest, entering a wobbly phase music state in pulses returned by campus and ski jump structures. Microphones already packed away, this atmosphere is all the the better for having to let it seep into memory, to soak through these words.

Enjoyed the exhibition by Svein Flygari Johansen @NNKunstmuseum Tromsø. Installations and various videoworks spread out across various spaces, with a selection from museum collection curated in conversation with the Johansen show. Delicate troublings of “northern” “nature”.

If northern lights are guovssahas in Sami - "audible light” - what is the sound of the midnight sun? Up here among the paths and cairns of Fjellstua, once the infrastructural buzz & whine fades, it is water trickle, hushed voices, footfalls, breeze, coughs, a gentle pressure.
