Some of my work was understandably cut to streamline the experience (story text is nearly all new, while Trowzer & Quack are greatly scaled back) & I guess it's inevitable I felt some sadness I couldn’t reach into the screen and add my own improvements to the overall personality

I think it’s fair that some critics have noted it feels a bit of a Frankenstein experience – the improvements are very much plastered on top of the original building. But it’s still a big jump & like Impossible Lair, shows what this team is capable of with time & resources

There are so many QOL improvements across the game, and the worlds are stuffed with new challenges and collectibles to uncover. Even as somebody who fiddled with the building blocks of the original for 2 years, it felt like a new experience.

I got to play a remake of a game I helped make! That’s a weird experience. I finished Yooka-Replaylee & overall Playtonic did a great job improving the game in virtually every way they could, without rebuilding the existing moves and challenges & creating a whole new game.
