I know that sounds overly simplistic but by all accounts EA went through a very lengthy process securing those licenses. 2K won't want to go through that too, and EA won't want to risk starting all over yet again with a new basketball engine. Seems win-win to me.

This might be a bit 'dogs and cats shagging' but what odds would you give on EA and 2K forming an unexpected partnership here?. 2K has the basketball game engine, while EA has the CLC licensing partnership thanks to the College Football series. Combine them, split the profit?.

This'll be an interesting one to watch. Bringing back EA Sports College Football was a no-brainer because Madden is the top American football series by miles, but EA's basketball arse collapsed years ago and it's essentially starting from scratch here: can it better NBA 2K?.

Also: Hamster has released an Arcade Archives game every single week for 8+ years (it holds the Guinness record for most consecutive weekly releases, at well over 400). Ridge Racer was 3 June, this is 3 July, so it seems the polygonal Arcade Archives 2 ones will be monthly.

I can't stress enough how big a deal this is. If Hamster is going to work its way through the Namco System 22 library that's going to be a hell of a lot of classic arcade games getting home ports for the first time ever.
