Super cool that so many bat species live in the #puentehills
Itās International Bat Week! The Habitat Authority is home to at least 11 bat species. One such bat, the western red bat, has been documented as being active on the Preserve most of the year. While most humans don't find insects delightful, this bat finds them irresistibly tasty.

Orb weavers are a family of spiders whose elaborate webs catch all manner of other insects making them great little pest control specialists. Enjoy them (or avoid them) while you can this fall because they will start to die back once winter weather sets in.

I always try to give my students mnemonic devices to remember ideas, like ācations are positive because cats are goodā And I know it works because they walk into class and say āMr Woods, look what I found!ā #whyiteach #STEM
