The United States and Congress needs to be thinking differently about using this capability for Lunar industrialization and development if they want to meet the Chinese challenge.
This isn’t Apollo. This isn’t The Martian. This is the Normandy Landings in space. And it’s the right way to go. A lot of the difficulties of surviving in space can be brute forced by throwing more mass at them.

For example. SpaceX needs to learn how to lay down Starships and cover them with regolith, add airlocks, build roads and landing pads for Mars. So get Congress to pay for developing that for their Chinese space race on the moon first.
@Robotbeat I think SpaceX focusing solely on Mars is short sited. I would prioritize maximizing Starship launch rate as the goal. The more Starship business that can be found the lower launch costs will ultimately become. Lowering the cost of lunar cargo delivery expands utilization.

This was awesome Zack! Solving pogo is and has been a huge part of how rockets operate that is absolutely under appreciated. Richard Feynman would be smiling approval at your ability to explain a complex subject like this to us 5 year old doom scrolling fans.
POGO: The 63-Year-Old Issue Threatening Starship's Success. This episode will answer all of your questions related to the problems SpaceX has been dealing with on the latest version of Starship.
