What is the point of letting brain drain of UK trained doctors to other countries (34%) and encouraging brain drain of doctors from other countries đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸ Height of complete lack of understanding of workforce planning đ¤Śđť https://t.co/NtciCJvwon

The IMGs need support and friendship. The Great Western Hospital at Swindon have set up a super example of mentorship and a buddy system. Congratulations to their team

We must campaign for reforming the PLAB exams. The GMC is making this a commercial platform to fill its coffers. Time to campaign to tailor the exams to the job requirements in the NHS @BIDAUK @BAPIOUK @appne_official @APPSUK @dauk

The GMC at its best. You can make up your own mind. GMC earned ÂŁ25 million in 2024 At present there are about 15,000 PLAB passed doctors in the UK

When this doctor started medical school, unemployment was unfathomable. Now it is a stark reality. Why are we training doctors to have them unemployed, moving abroad, or leaving medicine entirely?

Physician Associates to be renamed Excellent suggestion expected to be made in the Leng review. I donât think we should have the word âphysicianâ or âmedicalâ attached to their name. Why not call them âHealth Assistantsâ ? https://t.co/GCAvX6r81P

Structural racism is a killer. Canât believe 70% of Bangladeshi and Pakistani families live in poverty. Is deprivation the root cause?

Even the Academy of Royal Medical Colleges recognises the issue with PAs and AAs. BIDA had campaigned for a review a year ago. This must happen now

Medical chiefs say probe needed amid "increasingly acrimonious debate" about the role of PAs.

Is this how the GMC justifies itself becoming a regulator for AAs and PAs? Worth watching @BIDAUK

The current system seems more stressful as compared to when I came to the UK as a foreign trained medical graduate in the late eighties. Multiple rejections at interviews were quite common. Do we have a better solution?

I believe this is logical. I have always followed this rule but the GMC proved its hypocrisy and rascist attitudes extremely well in Dr Bawa Garba case. The Consultant got off scot freeđĄ

GP training 15,000 applicants for 4000 places!! The government plans to increase training places to 6000 in 2031. Whatâs wrong heređ¤ The RCGP and the government seem to ignore this enthusiasm. Should they not seriously plan to increase training places much sooner? @BIDAUK

So tragic but this is what happens in a broken healthcare system. We are all prospective patients and this could happen to anyone who is unlucky enough to fall ill. https://t.co/MMRHASoeMB

The nationally leading doctor was staying on wards so understaffed that his own GP wife had to take his observations
