AP African American Studies is a HUGE step forward considering the whitewashed AP US History & AP World History exams. Remember when they removed pre-colonialism from AP World? 🙄 This new class brings back the African history that @collegeboard cut.

If @CollegeBoard edits out important terms like “intersectionality” and “Black Queer Studies” from the AP African American Studies course, they will be complicit in the continued erasure and violence against these communities.

The @CollegeBoard needs to step up. Because it's not worth our time rationalizing the conservative demands, when College Board has the power to say no to racism. But this is the precise moment that they always cave. I've seen it before.

White supremacists will always try to limit access to info b/c empowered groups of people will upend oppressive systems. Other conservative governors will almost certainly pull similar stunts. @CollegeBoard should have expected this reaction & they need to respond in a big way.
