Few medications have captured the imagination—and provoked such ire—as menopausal hormone therapy. For decades, MHT has served as a lightning rod for medical and cultural debate about management of menopause, aging, and women’s health. https://t.co/2ok9l9tedE

Hot flashes can be emotionally distressing for midlife women—but will treating hot flashes improve mood? Clinicians caring for women with both hot flashes and mood symptoms should consider other factors affecting psychological function. @MenopauseJrnl https://t.co/AzMDwcwT9l

While hormone therapy is the most effective treatment for vasomotor symptoms, nonhormonal options like SSRIs/SNRIs, gabapentin, and oxybutynin offer modest efficacy.
