I’ve always said @CommunityNotes is great at flagging AI slop, especially if it’s not political. If Meta’s Community Notes can’t get a stable note attached to this slam dunk post then I’d say the system is an absolute fail.

Someone is melting down about not being able to post harmful health misinformation and blaming @CommunityNotes. Seemingly unaware that when multiple people Google sources to debunk misinformation — they'll GET THE SAME SOURCES. CN for the win here.

The one-and-only @KatieLSanders highlights the Pope's views on media literacy, misinformation — and how he became the target of consequential falsehoods. Including the "Pope in a puffer" GenAI image, which ushered in the era of AI slop in which we live.

TikTok is the latest social platform to hop on the @CommunityNotes bandwagon and implement crowdsourced fact-checking. They're keeping pro fact-checkers in the loop, and using the same bridging algorithm:

SCOOP: OpenAI is working on its own X-like social network, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter. While the project is still in early stages, we’re told there’s an internal prototype focused on ChatGPT’s image generation that has a social feed.

Such a giant baby. LIV Golf incarnate. Could not be happier today.
After Tiger won in 2019, Finau joked that he realized it wasn’t gonna be a chatty day when he asked Tiger how his kids were and got a one-word answer: “good.”. My humble opinion is that I think you’re allowed to focus on winning the Masters on Sunday.

I know I have my criticisms, but I am always impressed with @kcoleman, @_jaybaxter_ and other's work on this product. Seems small, but this is a HUGE improvement for information integrity. Bad actors like to screenshot unpublished notes to act like they're rated helpful.
New iOS update: Proposed note previews (visible only to contributors to gather ratings) are now more visually distinct from notes shown across X. Matches Android and web design, with a small wording change on all platforms. Designed to help clarify what you’re seeing. As always,

Regular reminder that crowdsourced fact-checking is only as effective as a platform wants it to be. And, as I've said, addressing misinformation doesn't seem high on Zuck's list of priorities.

X’s Community Notes is not the success that tech leaders want you to believe. And a similar system won’t stop misinformation on Facebook.
