"The term 'affordance' is far more spesific in understanding why player may have acted in the manner in which they did. The term 'decision-making' has also led to many viewing the game through reductionist lens of 'correct or incorrect' or 'fast or slow'."

“Coaches do not need to have an encyclopedic-like knowledge of fundamentals, highly specific techniques and various drills. "Instead a coach can use their knowledge of the game to design representative environments that lead to the emergence of varied movement solutions.”

Constraints are not merely limiting factors. 🤔 Constraints are ever present and continuously shaping performance. If a coach can effectively harness them within the practice environment, they may either discourage a player from using a particular movement solution, or nudge them

Using different sized and weighted balls & pucks is similar to how @AlexJSarama uses differential learning to guide shooting activities in basketball. 👇 https://t.co/BUkfBl9dBx
💡Applying differential learning to shooting. Perturbations occur from shooting out of different body positions, with varying movements, arcs and using contrasting ball sizes (Size 5 and 7). Shooter constantly changes range.
