OpenAccess is supposed to make science more "inclusive"; however, APCs are incredibly high for the financial reality of most scientists in Latin America (and other parts of the global south). Journals must do better or sadly #OA will increase geographical bias in science - ideas?.
An article with Brazilian authors was withdrawn because the authors were unable to pay for APCs: . #openaccess is not open if authors are economically excluded from publishing their work equitably!.
