GPT o3 complains quite often that is being blocked from accessing websites. The war has started. Will the gatekeepers win or will free access prevail? While I do hope the content providers can get a decent deal, I also know who has the moral high ground here. The future.

Rich Miller has seen and produced more unpublished mouse data than some people have published their whole life. Just an example. Lots of interesting implications: publication bias is real, tacit and confidential information cannot be used to train grad students or LLMs etc. .

Fascinating study. I guess it is sort of consistent with my experience? LLMs give massive speedup for the right tasks, tedious things, boilerplate code, search on steroids, brainstorming, proofreading, reformatting but they don't (yet?) provide much insights on aging research.

This is perhaps the last century that humanity can do great things, like curing aging or transcending humanity. After this it is back to naked apes of mediocrity.

Some people are fighting to finally classify aging as a disease, while others are fighting the opposite battle trying to normalize dementia. As strongly as I oppose this nonsense on an intellectual level, I do still hope we are allies in our battle against aging.

Paper confirms my suspicion. Population aging and Gompertzian parameters are inconsistent garbage. Look at lifespan, then measure healthspan afterwards instead. Full paper.Analysis of lifespan across diversity outbred mouse studies identifies multiple longevity-associated loci.

Multi lab testing of rapamycin in DO outbred female mice by Mullis 2025! Have you seen it @mkaeberlein . Brief take-aways.Rapa was used at 142 ppm and started at 16 mo (480d), was this an empirical dose or did they do blood testing? Not clear, the dose is HIGH. Rapamycin delays.

When I wrote my article "Geroscience aims to extend lifespan (and health)" I had never read Blagosklonny's "The goal of geroscience is life extension". He was a good guy. I wish more of us were bold and brave like Blagosklonny.
