Powerful arguments in this thread. These points were always well understood by health visitors, health promotions depts (remember them?), community workers, community public health & primary health care, until they were decimated to fund acute hospitals & tax cuts for the rich.

We do need a long term policy approach to how we fund health , public health and social care. But the debate about health insurance as a solution in and of itself is a distraction.
