From the inception of the NHS in 1948, Irish women and men were actively recruited to train and work as nurses in British hospitals. By the 1960s approximately 30,000 Irish-born nurses were working across the NHS, constituting around 12% of all nursing staff.
From the wards to the heart of the NHS, Irish nurses shaped British healthcare—but their stories have too often gone untold. Join Prof. Louise Ryan on 28 May for a powerful lecture sharing voices from the Irish nursing experience in Britain. https://t.co/q3jSEfdKQl

@LucyLetbyTrials We should have a public inquiry every time a murder isn’t committed.

Difficult to avoid spoilers on #Adolescence It reminds us the biggest risk to women & girls health isn’t blood pressure or obesity, it’s men & boys Misogyny harms more women in the UK & globally than terrorism & organised crime Yet misogyny itself isn’t even a criminal offence

It would be extraordinarily unlucky if babies died in a hospital from a combination of both gross negligence manslaughter and murder, but that is what Cheshire police are now investigating. It’s more likely just to be one of them.

An investigation into corporate manslaughter was launched in October 2023 following the trial and conviction of the ex-nurse - but Cheshire Constabulary have now widened their probe.

Estonia is a small country but for our population our losses were up there with US's and UK's. As president I went to every funeral. You can write off Trump's inanities to IQ but a man with a Yale law degree says this??? What an absolutely disgusting thing to say. Apologise.
There's a real - and growing - outrage over these comments. It's worse in some ways than the Munich speech. Europeans died in American-led campaigns. They have been active in multiple theaters. Vance's insult won't be easily forgotten

I and thousands of my fellow service men & woman went to support the US in Afghanistan after 9/11. (Two of my guys never came home) and we never asked for anything in return. How dare you post this. We have supported Ukraine more than the US has. You are pathetic.
To the hand-wringing Europeans who felt offended by President Trump rejecting being lectured by President Zelensky: Be my guest to defend Ukraine from Putin. It is long past time for the Europeans to show they are capable of defending their own continent. They’ve allowed

I don't care about the Chagos. I don't care about a trade deal. And frankly, after that spectacle, I don't care about "The Special Relationship" anymore. The invite from the King should be rescinded immediately. It's time to take a proper stand against Trump and his thugs.

1st key note @RCSI_FacNurMid delivered by @maxwele2 “moving the dial from recruiting rookies to retaining experts”. Protocol/rules driven culture prevents experienced Nurses using professional judgement , prevents high reliability & impacts on retention in England. #FNMConf2025

small point of order. if you don't know the difference between male and female you are risking the misdiagnosis of heart attacks, anaemia, renal disease, and cardiovascular risk on blood tests alone.

Not just UK and not just nurses @alisonleary1
1. Well the plot thickens. The HSE is advertising for a role for Sage Advocacy at 'social work non professionally qualified social worker grade' Social worker is a protected title & that grade was abolished with introduction of Coru.

Apparently “the world’s people” can live there, once the USA takes over Gaza, 'the Riviera of the Middle East.' These 'world's people'--do they happen to be white?

And also begs the question, what is the point of the Thirwall Inquiry?
BREAKING: The medical experts leading an investigation into cases presented against Lucy Letby claim 'we did not find any murders' suggesting injury or death were actually caused by 'natural causes or bad medical care' by the hospital Follow live ➡️ https://t.co/T2kbuyP40X
