Burying the lede here: "Our study showed that the total PM EF of the EV was significantly lower than that of the gasoline ICEV and diesel ICEV, when secondary exhaust PM was included ... Therefore, the replacement of ICEVs by EVs can improve air quality ..."
This paper found that EVs can create more non-exhaust emissions than gas cars: https://t.co/5ShJWbApeV EVs generate less brake dust, but more tire and road dust (intuitive, given EVs' added -- and unnecessary -- power & weight). RWP = Road wear TWP = Tire wear BWP = Brake wear

A truly massive loss for American transportation policy, good policymaking period, and the kind of curiosity and affability that translate in any kind of office. Thank you for all the great work and service, Mort.

Team Infrastructure @Arnold_Ventures is hiring an analyst! I’m biased of course, but this is objectively a cool opportunity to help us execute a strategy that will support building faster, better, lower cost in the U.S. More here:

The short: most cities state their ambitions, but far too few plan formal actions. We simply must do more to reach our climate goals and help grow durable careers in the process.
