This study directly led to US News and World Report dropping time to antibiotics as a metric that contributes to program rankings. Key here is to give antibiotics quickly in ill appearing but otherwise time for thoughtful evaluation.
💊 This analysis of >2000 cases of pediatric oncology #febrileneutropenia shows no clear evidence that a reduced time-to-antibiotic improves clinical outcomes in #pedonc FN and thus should not be used as a primary quality measure: @AdamEsbenshade #pedcsm.
