We are deeply saddened to share Larry Pickering, a towering figure in peds ID, passed away on July 1. Dr. Pickering's career spanned academic medicine & public health, incl many years at the CDC & serving as ACIP Exec Sec. He was a PIDS President & Distinguished Physician awardee

We are deeply saddened to share that Dr. George McCracken, one of the founding architects of the field of pediatric ID, passed away July 3 at the age of 89. Dr. McCracken was a founding PIDS member and served on the BOD twice. He was an icon, a mentor and friend.
