It's actually really crazy that women are only fertile for about 6 days every month and for only half our lives. Men are fertile every single day of the year and almost the entirety of their lives, yet the burden of child prevention is placed on us.
This is a Nigerian. Her name is Naomi Oloyede. This is a video of her speaking at an international conference in Vienna. She might not go viral cos she’s not twerking though 🤦🏾♂️
Sex tourism is a real thing in Gambia. Old retired british woman go to their old colony for young African men for sex and pay....I am not hating or against, neither do I have an opinion, just sharing public service announcement
Hilarious how y'all use this to shame women, claiming they cant achieve anything without having to sleep with someone for it. When in reality it's a greater indictment on every man in a position of power, it clearly means they will never let women get ahead without asking for sex
My husband and I work in the same industry. He’s in midstream and downstream oil & gas, he’s a petroleum trader and I’m in upstream oil & gas and Power. So we do a lot of work together. We’re both shareholders in each other’s companies and collaborate on projects together.
This is wild. The way female oppression is applied across cultures is really mind blowing. An American woman wants equal pay, a Nigerian woman wants autonomy in her home, Saudi women just want to drive.
Are we writing letters to my girl

For a full 24 hours, men have been insulting, threatening and harassing
@emrazz
for starting a conversation where women envisioned a day without men. All the threats directed to her illustrate what her tweet tried to show in the first place. Men are dangerous for no reason.
A message to every single one of you aggressively small minded shits who think you can wear me down with your constant trolling:
You won’t.
Every one of you makes me more resolute. Women deserve to live free of targeted violence - verbal, physical, sexual and institutional.
How do you ignore the demographic that can impregnate 100% of the time and focus all your attention on the ones whose fertility is at a much lower percentage and steadily declines. Smells like misogyny.
Men that will never help a woman without requesting she sleeps with them suddenly hate transactional sex. Men who actively block women from degrees, jobs, promotions, opportunities etc, unless they get something in return, are now forming moral arbiters. Father Lord.
Can we stop calling this marriage and call it what it really is, religious and state-sanctioned pedophilia and rape. The Nigerian government took the time out of their busy legislative lives to pass a bill criminalising marriage between gay people but allows this travesty.
We have the pill, IUDs, IUS, diaphragm, female contraceptives, the sponge, the injection, the patch, the ring, the cervical cap, the implant. Men are only required to use condoms or get vasectomies.
In contrast, vasectomies are quick and reversible and the danger in comparison to female contraceptives is minimal. Why is the medical community focused on 101 ways for women to prevent pregnancy but ignoring the far greater danger of male fertility?
Our issue is not that we don’t want birth control for women but that there should be more options for men so both parties can, as best they can, equally share the responsibility of pregnancy prevention. Because as it is, it is strictly one-sided.
I can see you want to be a poor lawyer. Don’t let these men lead you to believe false accusations are rife. In my 11 years at the Bar I’ve never encountered one false accusation of rape case. In contrast, 10,000 girls are raped every day in Nigeria and this is a mild estimate.
I will finish this law school. I will pass & be amazing at it. And then I will come for EVERY SINGLE woman who falsely accuses a man of rape. I will come for her with everything I have I will sue her for defamation of character, false imprisonment, malicious abuse, all I can find
People stood on sidewalks in Accra, Ghana, as Melania Trump’s motorcade traveled by, but there was little visible reaction—few waving hands, and no homemade signs (in support or protest).
Case in point. A national disaster that affected a whole country. Everyone was affected, but women suffered additional oppression. Everything is gendered, whether you choose to see past your ignorance or not. Women suffer the most in every single situation and we’re sick of it.
The UN is investigating allegations that women living in areas hit by Cyclone Idai in Mozambique were forced to pay or to have sex with community leaders in order to access food aid
@smoochieey
@Sheila_molua
Against abortion, against birth control, against single mothers, against sex positive women, against women who hold out on sex...logical gender for real.
The best gift I gave myself was freeing myself from the yoke of religion. For researching bible and Christian history on my own. For understanding that nobody is more anointed than the next and for seeing how religion has been used to promote hate, judgement and discrimination.
I wish we could do for The Igbos what HONY is doing for the Tutsis in Rwanda. So many people with entire families lost or killed who are walking around today with PTSD. Even my parents have PTSD, they lived through the war and barely speak about it. We need a thorough exposé.
This is why you need to put feminist in your bio. Separates the wheat from the chaff and prevents you from having conversations that’ll raise your blood pressure.
Don’t know why this is surprising to anyone. In the DRC, officials raped women before giving them Ebola medication. When a cyclone hit Mozambique, women were raped before they could receive relief aid. Women are in the greatest danger, no matter the situation on ground.
We stay dispensing the colonial myth of the African housewife. My. Mother, grandmother and great grandmother worked. I don’t know a single woman who was a stay at home mum. Why do we hang on to this lie that African women traditionally stayed home. It’s completely false.
"Traditionally, women used to be in the house imparting certain ideals to our children, now they are working and things have changed" President Kuffour .
#BBCAfricaDebate
We don’t even need to speculate, that is exactly what will happen. Just last year we protested against police brutality when 100 women were arrested in Abuja. At the protest I attended, the only man there was the photographer.

Last week I was named Young African Professional of the Year by the Independent Pan-African Youth Parliament in Johannesburg. I also got the opportunity to present a paper on Women in Leadership which will form part of a policy document to be submitted to the African Union.
I've changed my mind about a lot of things because of arguments I've seen on Twitter. The last 5 years of my life have basically being a cycle of learning and unlearning due to being confronted with biases I didn't even know I had.
There’s never a right time for a woman to do anything. You’re either too young to be exhibiting such behavior, or too old, so you should know better. Or you’re single, you shouldn’t be doing that. Or you’re married, how would your husband feel.
Uwa bu ofu mbia nne. Do you biko
You guys really think feminists are like Uber drivers for outrage you can order everything there’s a social issue. Why can’t you talk about it yourself since it clearly bothers you so much?
Lol. Women are not afraid of each other, they can bond and still call out each other’s BS. Most men on the other hand...victims of group think. Terrified of individuality and challenging their fellow men. Women don’t allow rubbish slide, y’all be actively covering for each other.
This lie again about women being housewives. Maybe the women where you’re from stayed home, African women have worked for centuries. They’ve farmed, traded, owned businesses, employed men & women. This housewife who does nothing that y’all constantly speak of, I’ve never met her
At my traditional wedding my father had the MC read out my entire profile...awards, degrees, Fellowships everything. I didn’t dance out to Ada Ada or any song, I danced out to welcome my in-law’s to the sound of my professional bio 😂
Rogelio De La Vega's relationship with Jane really reminds me of me and my dad. He frequently starts sentences with "my talented daughter said-". Anyway that is why I am insufferable
We need to stop calling this child marriage because it isn’t. Boys aren’t getting married to predatory older women. It’s only girls being married off as children. It’s paedophilia plain and simple and little girls are the only prey.
It’s because people expect women to be soft and nurturing so the exact behavior a man will display and you’ll call him assertive, in a woman you’d call that aggressive. You expect assertiveness from men but find it threatening in women.
Even as a single woman I had a housekeeper and cook. First time I did dishes in the whole of 2017 was when I first moved to Ghana to live with my husband. We got a cleaner sharply. Domestic work wastes time and if you can afford to outsource it, please do. No shame in it at all.
Applying for projects and opportunities together, the meetings, bed strewn with bid documents, staying up till 2am strategizing, speaking at the same events, learning shit we didn’t know at the same time, building our individual companies together. It’s really been something.
I feel like we need to stop blaming the harm caused by religion on other peoples interpretation. The Bible is pretty clear and straightforward about women being "lesser" than men, about homophobia, about purity culture etc. None of these things are interpretation
The motive for this year should be to mind your business. Nobody’s relationship, gender identity, sexual orientation, source of income, religion etc should concern you. As long as said person isn’t harming themselves, anyone else or the environment. Please take the time to STFU.
Started out as an Intellectual Property Lawyer then a Maritime Lawyer then an Oil & Gas Lawyer and now an Energy & Gender Consultant. New beginnings are lit 🔥
Older powerful, wealthy Nigerian women are really the weakest link in this struggle for gender equality. This constant need to remind us that even though they have achieved all this wealth and power they still submit to their husbands is embarrassing.
And you people said we should explain feminism to you nicely. This was in 1978, revolutions have never been won by pandering to the wishes of the oppressor. Dismantling patriarchy is a battle and we need radical feminists. Sit your moderate selves at home while we do the work.
Today marks 40 years since Icelandic women walked out and refused to work, cook and look after children for a day. It was a moment that changed the way women were seen in the country. Today Iceland ranks first for gender equality globally.
I have never ever seen a home where the woman is the sole provider that the man isn’t abusive. If it’s not physical abuse, it’s emotional abuse. Men really need to examine why empowered women threaten them so much.
Are there even any single men who are billionaires? Self-made billions, not inheritance and single as in, never being married.
Because even if your wife doesn’t work for/with you, her presence is usually why these men have been able to amass so much wealth.
Nigeria definitely doesn't care about progress. Other countries are appointing Ministers who are bringing innovation, we're here recycling the same group of governors, senators and ministers every 4 years. Shame.

I need women to stop showing up to things like this. Once you accept to debate feminism, you are acknowledging there are two sides and there isn’t. Women’s rights are human rights and those rights are not up for debate.
Everyday Feminism is trash.. Everyday Gender Equality is nonsense..
But sister and brother, do you even understand what gender equality and feminism is about??
Gender equality is not about who is the head in a home..Its about somethIng more ..
WATCH!! .
“Ashewo” doesn’t bang as an insult anymore. Women have owned “bitch” and “hoe”. Women cackle at Shiloh jokes and would die before cuffing any of you dusties. Women are demanding compensation for their labour, time and yes...sex. And the logical gender are losing their minds. ❤️❤️
Women are actually being harmed and they don’t even try to harm men back, all they do is talk about it and you want to kill them for talking through their trauma? Women can’t just exist for themselves in this world and that’s why a full day with no men is such a delicious fantasy
Africa has had quite a few female presidents as well. Liberia, Gabon, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Mauritius and Malawi. Togo has a female prime minister now too. The female prime minister of Burundi in the 90s was also briefly Acting President for 9 months.
Please oh.. there have been female presidents all over the world for a long time now. Nice of 🇺🇸 to join the league of countries with sense by putting a woman as the vice but if you’re looking for inspiration Europe, Asia and NZ (see my darling Jacinda) are rife with examples
Can’t believe this has to be said. No one is saying don’t learn Mandarin, but learn your native language as well. 30 years ago no one was bothering to learn Mandarin. The Chinese built their country & language into a powerhouse because they didn’t discard it in favour of English.
I relate so hard to this article. I left a job with zero backup, no plans lined up etc, just because of how toxic the leadership was. You don't have to die on the line for a job anymore. Step away and save yourself.
I was talking to my mum this morning about how Nigerian schools can ruin your early development and how at some point in my life I wasn’t thought of as a good student.
Women are talking about real life experiences, living in a world where we’re in constant danger from every man around us. Men need to examine why women talking about the abuse we’ve suffered and continue to suffer, rile them up so much.
One day where we can walk on the street without the fear of being harassed, go out drinking without the fear of being taken advantage of, wear what we want without the fear of being groped or abused. Just live one day without fear of our fellow human beings.
“The tequila I drank will make it my fault and whoever did this to me, whatever he drank, that’ll be his excuse”. I felt this. In sexual assault cases, alcohol absolves men of responsibility but enforces that of women.
@shondarhimes
this episode is a masterpiece.

I also reiterated that any framework to address maternal and child mortality must include the support of the private sector — as they serve as a strategic resource for enhanced healthcare service delivery.

Africa 2019 cohort. I can’t wait to connect with hundreds of inspiring leaders from across the continent next month. Learn more at https:
Nigerian men in the US marry women from Nigeria because they’re more submissive and also so the women can work as nurses and give their husbands their salary. These women come to the US, learn about their rights. The man, pissed she wants to be treated as a human being, kills her
Japan’s medical schools admitted that they’ve been rigging the med school entrance scores for years to stop women from entering medical school because they were hoping they would go home and get married instead 😒
Now they’ve stopped and women passed men.
Today’s TL has been very triggering so I stayed away the whole day but the funniest/not funny thing has been watching all the men go “woowww, women are suffering.” The exact same reaction every time a new harassment story drops...cue the fake epiphanies. It’s old abeg.
A list of 10 points why you’re marrying someone and not once did you say you love her. Every single point is about how she financially supported you. Nothing about her as a person, attributes, personality. You guys are scary man.
Last word. My mentions are teeming with men saying he’s just being honest. But when women say that all men are potential rapists until proven innocent, “not all men” crew report for duty. But your guy here is saying the same thing and you cretins are applauding his honesty.

Just watched Fela Durotoye call his female vice presidential candidate “beautiful and delectable” during a presidential debate.
These men can not help themselves 🤦🏾♀️
This is why I’ll always offer every single opportunity I have to women. This world is set up for us to fail and it’s the duty of the ones who have managed to succeed, to ensure they bring more women with them.
The next time you try to shut your ears or conversation on barriers to entry for women in politics, from major parties, from communities. Remember this video of the Kogi gubernatorial candidate during last week’s election.
So don’t be unfortunate by showcasing uour ignorance

Next step for NLS is abolishing the horrendous practice of awarding you your final grade based on your lowest grade. Makes absolutely no sense for someone to have 4 A’s and 1 D and graduate with a Pass. It’s an evil, ridiculous system. Grade students on average please.
Men commit over 90% of all homicides, men commit 80.4% of all violent crimes, % of men killing men is 76.8%, male drug & gang related homicides is almost 95%. Men commit forcible rape at 98.9%. No one ever asks why men hate everybody.
Let some women be a little catty suddenly:
Women who join men in gaslighting, “not all men” and whataboutism sicken me. The men can call on their privilege when they want to, but who will have your back when you’ve burned all your female bridges in your thirst to retain your proximity to your oppressor. Smh.
Morning reminder that we should all stand with
@StandtoEndRape
and every other organization fighting to curb the menace of sexual violence in Nigeria. These orgs have helped thousands of women and men in Nigeria and deserve our support and encouragement.
On this day I made the decision to switch from core Oil & Gas Law to Energy, Gender & Development. To make this change I had to quit my job at the time, get a Certification in Gender & Sexuality, did online courses, read articles, watched webinars on the topic etc.
I think I’ve finally found my passion. It’s light years from my current field so I’m going to literally have to start from scratch, go back to school, probably intern too. But I’m so excited!
First time I saw this tweet I couldn’t believe it but I see this every day in my work now. There are stats showing that in rural and low-income urban areas 90% of women re-invest in their families. This is compared to only 35% of men. Women have become targets for investments.
So so proud of young Nigerian women talking the talk and walking the walk. This is no longer your submissive mothers generation, these young girls are ready and willing to go to battle for the right to be accorded their full humanity. I’m in love and in awe. Goddess Girls.
When they suspend Dino for being in a rap video and that Adeleke senator for dancing everywhere, then we can have a serious discussion. Anything else is misogyny and sexism at work in Nigeria as usual.
This is also why I feel middle aged African mothers feel such a strong connection to Diana. Getting married in the 80s, difficult in-laws, “fairytale” marriages that turned into nightmares. Diana represented the rebels they didn’t dare become. They lived vicariously through her.
Additionally, right around the time that many of these women were coming of age, Prince Charles and Princess Diana were getting married. Many of these American women saw this fairy tale wedding and marriage as confirmation that childhood dreams could become a reality..
