Lebanon’s gov is undertaking big risks in holding talks with Israel. Last time serious efforts as such happened, assassinations and violence followed. In some ways, Beirut is more immune now (not in state of civil war, Assad gone, Hezbollah recalibrating, LAF stronger). Still,

“In speaking to people who have left, often some form of abuse forms part of their reasoning.” Important piece by @Maggiemphillips in @tabletmag on the legacy of mass child abuse in the U.S. Catholic Church, which now loses 8.4 cradle Catholics for every convert it brings in.

It is the year 2025, almost 2026. Our major American media is indistinguishable in terms of accuracy and impartiality from the Soviet Union's Pravda, circa 1970. Fact.

The wild thing about the Somali fraud story is that while there are still a lot of intriguing unknowns out there, almost every major detail has been been public for months or even years. Part of the scandal is that it's all been systematically tolerated *at best*

@LeeSmithDC I agree prioritizing the targets you list but foreign labor provides the cover for those targets , no cover, no place to hide. Let AI help take care of the problem , it was used to create the problem. Clear the forest , no place for the terrorists and criminals to hide.

Foreign labor has to be de-priortized, even if AI is destined to cause national catastrophe. Not enough time to root out 30 million — focus has to be on the millions who pose national security, and criminal, threat — foreign terrorists.
