BREAKING: Category 5 Hurricane #Melissa now has sustained winds of 175mph and a pressure of 906mb. About as strong a hurricane as you can get in the Atlantic Basin. An incredibly dangerous situation for Jamaica…

The most local way we can spend our money is at the nearest farmers markets, directly to farmers, CSA’s (Community Supported Agriculture), farm stands. Take this opportunity to meet neighbours, farmers & makers in our community, now & forever, even after the geopolitical tensions

Snow is finally dying down in Nanaimo. Too cozy in my PJs to go out and properly measure but I'd say we got a good 20cm if not more. #BCStorm #BCSnow

Be prepared for dangerous road conditions as roads are still in pretty poor condition and a layer of ice may form on top of roads from the rain before transitioning to snow. #BCStorm

Extremely low visibility while driving in North Nanaimo right now. Very windy with heavy snowfall, I'd consider this near Blizzard conditions. #BCStorm

A couple models are showing sustained winds of 40km/hr at times with gusts up to 80km/hr, this along with heavy snow could easily knock out power in large areas so make sure you have something to stay warm if you rely on power for heat. #BCStorm

I'm not seeing this being talked about enough. This incoming storm not only has a lot of potential for heavy snow but there could also be some very strong winds accompanying the snow at times that could cause widespread power outages and near 0 visibility #BCStorm

-5C with a windchill of -12C for Nanaimo tonight and it's only November 8th, that's colder then we usually get all winter and it's not even winter yet 🥶🥶🤯 Friendly reminder that it was 25C only 3 weeks ago #bcstorm
