No auroras are expected from the high solar activity so far! Lots of BS being posted about the current flare barrage. While the flares are certainly impressive, there have been no big CMEs. CMEs cause auroras, not flares.

This X8 flaring sequence is not a scary event (although further flaring would be directly facing earth) and therefore I am not updating again until the AM Anyone pushing fear on this event needs to be ignored hence forth. Tighten up the feeds people.
