A big thank you to Sinéad @taylors2305 who presented lots of ideas on how to approach functional cognitive assessment at our study event. Big message = functional cognition is what we do as OTs we just need to ‘own it’ & ‘promote it’

@thriving_autist @EmilioLees @InclusionIre This really boils my blood. Government should be leading here, especially as expected to have 6% disabled staff. I often ask, "how can you achieve that goal without making reasonable accommodations through the recruitment process? "

And there it is - the first Irish sprinter ever to win an NCAA title, and the first Irish champion at NCAAs for 17 years. Another huge Irish record for @rhasidatadeleke, who moves into the top 20 on the world 400m all-time list.

Stroke HSCPs! Are you driving back later after visiting your mammy? Do you need something to listen to while you’re ironing your uniforms of a Sunday night? Try this really enjoyable podcast (which ironically reminded me about lots of things I’d forgotten about memory)
What is memory? Dr. Ginger Campbell (@docartemis) of the Brain Science podcast talks about memory, criminal justice and more on the #Strokecast podcast. Learn more at https://t.co/s0r23CqKnp

I’m beyond despair that this drivel is set to be repeated next week on @RTEOne despite the multitude of complaints and concerns voiced when it was originally screened back in Sept. Will RTE air a pre-show warning? Will those of us who know better get an equivalent 30 minutes?
I reluctantly watched this show and if I had a bingo card for how NOT to treat #longcovid I’d have had a full house. A thread 🧵1/

This option alone shows us that #activism and highlighting issues and unacceptable exclusion is worth while. Now #wheelchair users and those with mobility issues won’t have to be relying on others for access, they won’t have to give notice to travel and as long as the lifts

Great to see this in the Irish Times today about how Occupational Therapy can help more people to stay in work or return to the workplace. The article also highlights the value of Occupational Therapists working in GP practices https://t.co/mOOLWpd3qq

Wonderful news! As a GP who has an OT in our team I've seen the benefits for many patients. OTs are dual trained in physical and mental health so provide holistic care based on improving function and QOL. They provide effective support to help patients grow their lives.
NHS Lanarkshire is set to become one of the first health boards in Scotland to provide a primary care occupational therapy (OT) service to all local GP practices. For more information, visit https://t.co/UhOEWJMK0G
