External Iliac Artery Endofibrosis (EIAE) is a rare cause of exercise induced leg pain #EILP in high level #sport It often remains undiagnosed because doctors & physios may be unfamiliar with the condition. I teamed up with @tomgoom to raise awareness in #Physio #Physiotherapy

Mythbuster of the day ๐Ÿ’ฅ from @BJSM_BMJ . Recreational running doesn't cause knee osteoarthritis and may have a protective effect. Only 3.5% of recreational (amateur) runners have osteoarthritis (knee or hip) compared with 10.2% of sedentary individuals https://t.co/idQWWgv2nr

This table summarises the findings. You can see that healthcare communication such as good explanation, therapeutic alliance, collaborative goal-setting and psychological factors such as motivation and patient expectations all ranked highly as both important and modifiable.

In Rounds 2 and 3 we asked the experts to rate the importance of the predictors and if they were modifiable by physiotherapists. We used progressively more stringent consensus criteria from Round 2 to 3. 22 factors reached consensus as important (12 of these as modifiable)

We surveyed 44 specialist shoulder surgeons & 44 specialist shoulder physiotherapists from 25 countries. In round 1 we asked an open question about what factors they thought were important in predicting response to physiotherapy in MIRCT. We got 344 statements (45 predictors)
