I agree, 100%. i've been trying to establish a #lowcarb programme in Bradford they way it should be done! only to be told it already exists. Sorry but if it existed, me as a diabetic should've been on that programme 3 years ago when I was diagnosed. It's an uphill struggle.1/2.
18 billion. That's the cost of our collective failure to tackle diabetes. Standard care does not work. Patients walk around with hba1c's of 7,8,9% and are told this is fine, enjoy yourself and simply take your meds. When they have complications we pretend it's unavoidable.

Whether we regard/disragrd A1c as an out dated marker, the point is GPs have long failed patients when it comes to diabetes type 2. When you wait for some to develop full blown diabetes and treat them in my eyes its a tragedy. Pre-diabetes is when the treatment and advice begins
