maybe the easiest way to be comfortable with solitude is to fill life with domestic, manual tasks, much of which "we" have outsourced to cheap labour and tech. maybe this is the uneven nostalgia for a simpler life (not always benign).

@shack_hq The real community doesn’t ask for seats or decor or a new menu item. They are there for the main things: jargon free tasty coffee, fuss free food and non imaginary objectives. This is my fourth time building a community. The fundamentals are still the same.

Taleb was equally taught lessons by real medical researchers during Covid, when he went about giving gyaan on vaccines and its various possibilities. Avoid hot takes online. Mostly it’s half assed or at best half baked.
@ShreeHistory Back in 2023, Taleb taught him a statistically significant lesson. Not really a fan of Taleb's online behaviour but it couldn't have happened to a nicer person. I think to understand science; we must hide replies from those we disagree with and maybe eventually block them.

My parents never allowed me to befriend any Muslim girl until I reached a mature age. Back then their strictness felt unreasonable, but today I see it as divine protection, and I’m deeply thankful for their foresight. Pls keep your daughters safe. Keep an eye on them. .
