Great to see @AberfoyleGC in the Top Courses in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ranking. Nice to see us starting to get the recognition we deserve. Fighting it out with Bobby Mac’s home course. Hopefully the more people come to play and see the delights of Aberfoyle the higher the ranking we’ll get.

What a glorious morning @AberfoyleGC for the Greenkeeper’s Tapsaltearie (topsy turvy) where we play the course kinda back to front. All proceeds go to our 2 brilliant greenkeepers as a wee thank you for looking after the course so well. It’s a great fun event. Some great holes!

5/5 The 18th is a fitting finale to an exhilarating round, cascading home to the rickety 1890 Clubhouse (not in use now). The routing @AberfoyleGC is ingenious and intoxicating at one of Scotland’s most scenically splendid courses. Many thanks Bob for sorting our game. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿370

4/5 There is no defined signature hole at @AberfoyleGC , though 13, 15, and 18 are each mentioned as contenders. I’d add 4, a short uphill par 4 with a narrow green and 16 playing back towards Ben Lomond, tumbling down between tall trees to a low lying, hidden green…

2/5 To create a course on this terrain is remarkable in itself but for the holes to be as constantly fascinating over such slopes is a triumph. No wonder only 8 bunkers are required as defence here, the oblique land at @AberfoyleGC takes care of the rest…

1/5 Played @AberfoyleGC for the first time today, a course that has been high on my ‘to do’ list for some time. The ever-present beauty surrounding this hillside woodland is only matched by the endless variety and challenge of the brilliantly maddening holes…

Beautiful morning for the August medal @AberfoyleGC this morning.

Enjoyable day at Aberfoyle, a quirky, hilly fun par 67 course. Strong. Set of par 3s. Mix of sun, clouds and a little sprinkle of rain.

Nice touch this morning @AberfoyleGC for the Alistair Johnston Salver charity medal in memory of Alistair and in aid of MND 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Gone but not forgotten.

Hole 4 - Alma (Maters 😃) is our signature hole @AberfoyleGC. Only 256 yds from the whites, but it can wreck a card. A good drive this morning left 60 yds steeply uphill and pin just on (on and a 2 putt par) makes it look an easy 4. It’s not. Come and give this quirky hole a try.

After an epic 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿golf trip I went wandering on the way home to @AberfoyleGC. Thanks to @JimHHartsell for sharing it in his @thelinksdiary article, and especially to @wypaterson for being a great host. Those who love the fun, quirky, scenic @golfonarran should add it to their list
