It would be great if in a future story Finn and Rose went back and saved them to bring the kids to Rey’s academy. But this wasn’t set up for that and TROS didn’t need to show that. The kid represents that greatness can come from anywhere and the legend of Luke spreading.
That force kid from the end of The Last Jedi is still a slave.
