In 2014, there were a total of 74 airports in our country; today, the count has crossed 160 airports. When small cities in India get an airport, the people there get a lot of opportunities, Prime Minister #NarendraModi said during the inauguration of

This is just an excuse to kill BEST. With Line 3 opening, routes like A-115 & 137 will be freed up - perfect to use as feeder buses! Why jump to private tie-ups before integrating our own public system first? @MumbaiMetro3 @myBESTBus @AamchiBest

In 2003, Saturn released a car commercial that ironically made a case for abandoning them. In Mumbai two and four wheelers consume approximately 85% of road space to move 25% of commuters, while buses consume 1.5% of road space to move 20% of commuters.

The law of the instrument: "Give a boy a hammer and he will find that everything he encounters needs pounding." Give planners a TBM and they will invent problems that require excavation. Another absurd car-centric megaproject. We need buses and bus-lanes, not tunnels! @myBESTBus

Mumbai’s authorities are in a great rush to sell every piece of “family silver”. Some call this land monetization mania the “great Indian land sale”. So, what is going on? Read my column in today's Mumbai Mirror: https://t.co/1UrzR7pYcY #WakeUpMumbai #Mumbai #LandMonetization

In 2011 Mumbai had 4385 all-public buses. Today, there 2703 buses, almost all privately operated. BEST can buy its own buses, but it doesn't. Electrification is nothing but a cover for privatization and downsizing BEST. @somitsenTOI @AamchiBest @VarshaEGaikwad

The BMC has money for 30,000 car users, but none for 3,00,0000 bus commuters. On BEST Divas, the authorities need to remind themselves why we celebrate BEST Divas. See the article in the Mumbai Mirror today @mybmc

Dear Mumbaikars, It has happened. Despite our strong opposition, the government has nearly doubled BEST bus fares. As I have said before: don't fall for the excuse that this hike is "necessary" or "in BEST’s interest." A steep fare increase will not fix BEST’s problems — it

Another fatal accident involving a wet lease contract bus...third one in less than a week. It is high time we we prioritise safety of Mumbaikars over the profits of contracted private bus operators. आणखी एक जीवघेणा 'वेट लीज' बस अपघात... आठवड्यातील तिसरा अपघात. खाजगी बस

Frequent accidents, bus maintenance issues, inadequate training of bus drivers, poor quality services, underpaid staff- the wet- leasing model of the BEST has been a total failure. It hasn't worked at all. It has only compounded issues for the BEST. Demanding this again, it is
