Humbled to receive recognition for what I consider my ‘normal daily work’, none of which could have been achieved without the amazing team @PDCNSW & its members, all of whom give so much of themselves to make #accessible change. Thanks @AbigailBoydMLC for your motion! @CIDvoice
Thanks to @AbigailBoydMLC and NSW Parliament for passing a motion on ‘the wide-reaching & lasting impact that Serena Ovens had in her role as CEO [of PDCN]..driving change that has improved the lives of countless people with physical disability.’ https://t.co/jnBo0pkU0o

Thanks @johaylen for being well briefed and ready to work collaboratively to improve a broken system. We know there’s some easy wins that will provide much better outcomes for PWD that rely on this vital service & hope they can be administered quickly! @advocacynsw @CIDvoice
Excellent to join with SCIA to meet Transport Minister @johaylen discussing the ongoing problems PWD experience using taxis. The Minister was very receptive and is looking to improve wheelchair accessible taxi services and deal with TTSS issues. We look forward to meeting again.

As our population ages, we need more homes that are accessible to all. Unfortunately, NSW is 1 of only 2 states in that are yet to adopt building regulations that will make new houses more accessible. It’s time to change that. For more info visit https://t.co/WZznYdbTvA

I got to chat to @smh about the lack of #accessible parking spaces in Sydney & the ever increasing nos. of mobility parking passes in use. Time for regulations to change & some innovation on varying the types of #accessible spaces to meet everyone’s needs! @SCIAust @PWDAustralia
Drivers with disability are struggling to find parking in Sydney as the number of accessible spaces fails to keep up with an increasing number of older drivers with permits. Local councils must do more to provide the required number of accessible spaces. https://t.co/YyC3WxyF4A
