Had the entire 267 laps at Miami gone green and the final positions were based on speed alone (Median Lap) Kyle Larson would've finished approximately 2.5 miles ahead of 2nd place

Optimal Lap Model takes into account when drivers are in dirty air/clean air, tire degradation, and a driver's lap time inconsistency to estimate the expected best possible lap time of the car for each lap through a run.

Kyle Larson is also your 2025 Restart Champion Chastain gave him the closest challenge being the only driver +100 pos. net, but in the playoffs he was unable to maintain a high enough Retention Rate Larson was the closest driver to a +80% Reten rate coming up 0.1% short

Yesterday someone I spoke to made a great point about the playoffs vs. 36 race. Why not do both? Have a 36 race champ, and then also 1 event that is an exciting winner take all 1 race title with only the best drivers of the year. Me: That’s supposed to be the All-Star Race

This largely sounds wonderful actually😂
@jeff_gluck Based on top replies, common themes include: 1. Revise championship to full-season points, ditching playoffs or win-and-in. 2. Boost horsepower (900+ HP) and fix car for better racing/tire wear. 3. Eliminate stage cautions (keep points) to reduce gimmicks. 4. End overtime/GWC
