Trump asked today, why didn’t Ukraine fight back in Crimea in 2014? As I wrote in my book, The War Came To Us, Ukraine’s decision to not fight back against Russia’s invasion of Crimea was largely influenced by behind-the-scenes pressure from the US. Here’s what then-interim

Here’s a solid peace plan: US declares Crimea and all four regions Ukrainian, calls Putin war criminal, labels Russia aggressor—Russia pulls out and pays for the damage it caused

I’m speechless and shaken by tonight’s attack on my #Kyiv. Mass rain of drones and missiles. Today will be about counting the wounded and burying the killed. #Ukraine mourns and #russia still doesn’t pay

Right now in Ukraine. A Russian ballistic missile threat for the whole country. Let’s be very clear about who is not interested in peace or in “stoping shooting”… Russia!

Trump, Vance & others either have forgotten or never knew that Zelensky signed a ceasefire agreement with Putin in 2019. Three years later, Putin launched his full-scale invasion. So, signing another ceasefire with no security guarantees feels like suicide for Ukrainians.

On this day in 2022, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov assured the West that Russia had no plans to invade Ukraine. Two weeks later, they did. History has shown us what happens when we trust the Kremlin’s words over their actions. Don’t fall for it again, as Russia is once again

Unfortunately, we got used to the nightly attacks. So, I'm not even bothering you to write about war experiences every day. But ballistic is something different. It is fast, it is loud, it is all over the city. At the same time, people overseas say something about "goodwill".

TLDR ➡️Online harms are increasing and demand proactive solutions to ensure safe online spaces ➡️Effective countermeasures operate at multiple levels: public info, govt and platform actions ➡️Creative communicators play a vital role in crafting impactful responses to online harms

My research brings to light how women shape global narratives during conflict, and will hopefully contribute to the cementation of their voices in national histories of this brutal war.

I found that while men’s communications concentrated on military and diplomatic narratives, women's focused on civilian trauma and Russian war crimes but contained no calls for compromise, disproving Western theories that women are more pacifist than men.
