Don't know if any phage-folks needs to see this, but not all agars are made equal. In my case, it's for phage work, but totally possible that other biological phenomena are impacted as well. After years of working with lambda, I noticed that it stopped plaquing and multiple 1/

One issue that obstructs phage efficiency in vivo is poor localization of phage to the site of infection. @AGrigonyte and colleagues published a new paper showing how they modified phages to increase their association with lung epithelium cells in vitro

We reuse our Qiagen columns (any kind) without compromising the yield and any carry over DNA contaminations by soaking the columns in 1M HCl overnight and washing the coumns with 5X distilled water (1 column volume each time). Saves money and plastics.

Last talk before we pause for beverages, we have Aureljia Grigonyte, also from Dominic Sauvageau's Lab at @UAlberta. Her presentation will provide insight into how we can take into account complex variables when modeling the effect of phage cocktails.
