I was unemployed and knew GIS, so I tweeted PA election maps. Somehow that spiraled into managing a school board race, then a state house race, then congressional race and then a major-city mayoral campaign. Truly not a reasonable sequence of events.

On Tuesday, Allegheny County Controller Corey O'Connor was elected the next Mayor of Pittsburgh by a whopping 73%, the largest margin in a contested election in city history. Impressively, he won the 31st Ward (Trump +4) by about 40%.

Upshot of the municipal election? Four sitting state lawmakers won local seats, meaning four special elections in the coming months. Those elections must be at least ~70 days (the Speaker has up to 10 days to issue a writ + minimum 60 from that date) after each's resignation.

Democrats in the Keystone State defended their 5–2 Supreme Court majority last night after three incumbents were retained by voters, each by a margin of at least 20 points. This came despite Trump’s late push for the “No” campaign. #Pennsylvania🧑‍⚖️

Josh Maines, a registered Democrat, won the Clearfield County Court of Common Pleas race by 178 votes (0.8%) against Ryan Sayers, a registered Republican and the incumbent DA. Clearfield county went 75-24 to Trump. This is a swing of 51 points. 1/
