A bit sad today - just submitted the final External Examiner's report for York's MA in Railway Studies, seeing the final cohort through their dissertations. Some excellent work, of publishable standard, on innovative topics. What a waste that York closed the programme.

Controversial opinion (apparently): Disabled people should be able to afford luxuries on top of just surviving. A new phone, clothes, the chance to go to a concert, etc. We deserve to live. Not just survive.

Now seems like a good time to remind the railway community that speculation in the immediate aftermath of a railway accident is at best unhelpful, and at worst, actively harmful to those directly involved. Just wait for official announcements and resist temptation. Please.
